The client is the Municipality of Athens which, after a tender, commissioned an experienced professional Bosch equipment contractor with many years of experience to supply and install all the required equipment.
Purpose
The Municipality of Athens wanted the installation and operation of an electronic voting application in the Greek language, to optimize the voting procedures of articles by the municipal councilors. iBS Informatics Systems Ltd., as the company selected for the implementation of the desired applications and their operation through Bosch Dicentis Multimedia devices, had to meet the following specifications:
- Previous experience implementing software for Bosch professional equipment.
- Previous successful installation and operation of e-voting application.
- Experienced management of special features and requirements for the operation of the Municipality of Athens.
Solution
At the offices of the Municipality of Athens, 60 Bosch Dicentis Multimedia devices were installed by the project contractor and connected to the central server (Server) for their operation through the Bosch Meeting Application. The iBS implementation team implemented a Windows application to centrally manage the results display screens and the poll manager's computer.
The iBS implementation team also installed on Bosch Dicentis Multimedia devices the integrated software application for conducting electronic voting. The administrator creates the respective votes and after the president's order activates them. Municipal councilors declare their intention to participate by using their magnetic card at the corresponding Bosch Dicentis unit. After the end of the electronic voting process, the detailed results are displayed on the screen of the system operator, on the central screens of the hall and on the computers of the Legislative Function department. In addition, authorized users of the application can generate statistical reports, print them or even export them to CSV files for further analysis of the results.
