The Client is the local office of NN Hellas, the well-known insurance and investment management company active in more than 18 countries, with a strong presence in Europe and Japan.
Purpose
Our Client wanted to implement CSS code according to specific instructions from NN Netherland to achieve Claims Management, the web application developed in MVC .NET
As iBS became the Customer's technology partner of choice, the list of identified challenges grew to include all of the following for the development team to address:
– Excellent knowledge of CSS code
– Easy collaboration with other development teams
– International business mindset
Solution
CSS, while easy to learn and get started with, soon becomes problematic on any reasonable scale. There's not much we can do to change the way CSS works, but we can make changes to the way we write and format it. When working on large, long-running projects, with dozens of developers of different specialties and abilities, it is important that we all work in a unified way in order to – among other things –:
– make stylesheets maintainable,
– keep the code transparent, logical and readable,
– keep stylesheets scalable.
After carefully studying NN's design guidelines, we implemented clean, logical and readable CSS code.
